CEBA is changing the March 21st Event to a more advanced colony inspection review.  Kaley Kirby will be leading in the apiary and overseeing the following two task.

  1. Small colony that has survived from 2025 and is defending itself from a large collection of small hive beetles.  This colony will be evaluated, adjustments made with explanations.
  2. A larger, more populated colony also survived from 2025 and is possibly approaching swarm mode.  This colony also may be showing signs of being just a little too testy for our public bee yard.  Kaley will be explaining the possibilities of requeening, splitting, and making the adjustments to this colony also.

PLEASE note that YOU will be required to wear a bee veil in the apiary.  The 2nd task mentioned above will require us to separate and break down this colony 100% with the goal of finding the queen.  Several small teams will be asked to search a populated bee box looking for her AND securing her for transfer!

.

Please register as this will help us plan our day.

Saturday Workshops always have additional surprises.  Don't miss the "hands on learning" that this provides each beekeeper.

Please register so we can plan better!!
