Bill Owens, Master Craftsman & owner/operator of the Georgia Bee Removal will be our Guest Speaker at 06:30 PM. We will be meeting in the main building at the Oatland Island Wildlife Center.
Southeast Ga swarm season can start as early as February, but we are experiencing some really cold fronts this first week in February. However, by March, CEBA Members will start receiving bee packages from Wilbanks Apiaries.
How are you getting started in 2026?
Bill will be reviewing the various steps that you need to consider for Spring start-up. Installing a bee package? Catching a swarm? Or purchasing a NUC all have slightly different, but important considerations.
CEBA wants YOU to bring your questions for discussion with Bill. There are variables for each option in getting started. Be sure you understand the important steps to help give your bees the best chance to thrive as Spring arrives.
ALSO:
Our first tentative delivery for bees will be on Saturday, March 14! We will be installing packages in our bee yard at Oatland! Opportunities to work "hands on" with other beekeepers is a real bonus for the club.
Please register for the Event(s) attendance so we can better plan the activities.
Be sure to tell the Gate that you are there to work the bee yard! You should not be paying any admittance fees. And please drive around using the paved road and not drive across the grass medium to get to the bee yard!
