CEBA and Oatland are hosting a Public update on the overall status of the Yellow-legged Hornet(YLH) invasion taking place all around us.  Most recently, Oatland Island Wildlife Center had a YLH primary nest removed from their building!

These nests can easily look like a bald-faced hornets' nest, but there are differences.  If you are suspicious, the Geogia Department of Agriculture has a fantastic response time to visit and verify the nest/hornet's identity.

CEBA is pleased to have several of the staff members from the Dept of Agriculture to be presenting their educational presentation at Oatland on August 12th.  This is a free Presentation and will be providing a status of the Departments success across Georgia.

Even though beekeepers are often the people sighting the hornets at their apiaries, the nest are rarely close by.  They can be seen both low and high in trees depending on their stage of development.  The Public is highly encouraged to come learn what this is all about and help our beekeeper's support this worthy cause of "eradication".

Below are a few more Pics to get you interested in learning more, and hopefully, having you join us in helping to eradicate a known pest to our honeybee populations.
