CEBA meeting: "Thinking Outside the Box: Beekeeping" by Bobby Chaisson

  • Monday, August 13, 2018
  • 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM
  • Oatland Island Wildlife Center, conference room

UPDATE: We will have access to Oatland Island Wildlife Center, so please plan on attending this meeting!

During his talk "Thinking outside the box: Beekeeping," guest speaker Bobby Chaisson will talk about the importance of getting more than a text book education when it comes to beekeeping.

Bobby has always had an interest in bees because he grew up with bees in the wall of his bedroom as long as he can remember. Ten years ago he a was able to get his first two colonies. He started doing bee removals from structures not long after getting his first hives. This has now turned into a full time job with Georgia Bee Removal, where Bobby preforms hundreds of removals a year.

Bobby is one of the foremost experts on bee removals in the state and manages more than 100 colonies of bees. He also has served as the president of the Tri County beekeepers in north Georgia for the past four years. Through this organization, Bobby has established several beekeeping programs and mentored numerous beekeepers.
