Welcome to the world of beekeeping!

With more than 190 members, the Coastal Empire Beekeepers Assn. credits its success to providing educational opportunities for members at all levels of experience.

CEBA offers classroom and hands-on apiary experience

CEBA hosts monthly Monday night meetings that feature guest or local speakers.

We also offer "second Saturday of the month" hands-on workshops in the CEBA apiary, located within the Oatland Island Wildlife Center in Savannah, Ga. Members and visitors inspect hives, document their findings and decide what is the next course of action to help the colonies thrive.

These monthly events are a great way to see if beekeeping is right for you and to expand your knowledge if you are already a beekeeper.

Need a swarm of bees removed?

Call a CEBA beekeeper to come remove a swarm! Before you call, please be prepared to answer these questions:

  • - Are you sure the insects are honey bees?
  • - Where is the swarm located - on the wall of your home, inside a wall, on a tree branch, on your car?
  • - How high off the ground is the swarm?
  • - Do you own the property where the bees are?
